Love in the Time of Corona

Anxiety is my default mode in a crisis. I don’t like to admit it (we pirates have our pride) but when the pressure of uncertainty builds, my mind lurches toward worst-case scenarios. Will my business survive an economic downturn? Will my family be safe during the Corona pandemic? How much control do I really have over how things turn out?

The danger of anxiety is that it’s vague, unfocused, and leads to paralysis. Fear is seeing a lion and recognizing the danger. Anxiety is seeing a forest and worrying that there might be a lion somewhere within. It’s natural to be afraid in the face of uncertainty. But the benefit of fear is that it’s specific, focused, and provides the opportunity for action.

I believe the best action right now, in the face of the Corona pandemic, is love.

Entrepreneurs naturally take risks and what’s more risky than loving one another? We should be thinking of ways to put our creativity and expertise to work in order to help each other. Each of us has been gifted with time and talent and those gifts don’t have much value if they’re not shared.

putting love into action for my clients

Many of my clients have told me that I have the gift of listening. I’m also pretty good at helping others discover their brand message, the most authentic part of themselves. I’ve discovered that most entrepreneurs have a firm grasp on how and why they want to change the world but that message gets buried under the clutter of running a business day after day. They need some time to pause, step out of working IN their business, and work ON their business.

So here’s how I plan to spread the love by sharing my time and talents. I have set aside 4 hours a week (in one hour blocks) for free, one-on-one strategy sessions to those entrepreneurs and small business owners who want to focus on their brand message and create strategies to effectively communicate that message to the world.

Use the link below to book a Zoom session with me to discuss your brand, your website, your mission statement, or anything related to your marketing. I’m here to listen, help you focus, and strategize.

there is opportunity on the other side

There’s a storm right now called the Corona pandemic but it will pass eventually and there is hope and opportunity on the other side. Now is the time to plan for those opportunities.

The way we do business and marketing may not look exactly the same when we emerge from this storm but your brand — the authentic you — and its message will remain the same and you need to be prepared to put that message out there.

The timing of my offer may not make sense for every entrepreneur or business owner, but there are some out there who would really benefit from an hour with me. Maybe you know someone like that. Maybe you are that someone.

I’m declaring the remainder of 2020 the Year of Love. Let’s talk.
